I am clueless about servers…. Right now my website has a front-end host and the database/back-end is on another server. Can these be in one place?
What is the difference between a “back end” and “front end” host or server, as people have coined these? THANKS, in advance, to all you IT/computer geniuses

For instance, if I have a form on my webpage where people enter in their information “name, address, email, etc”, and Submit the form, how am I as the owner of the webpage able to access the information?

I keep getting this error:
Error connecting to MySQL server: Access denied for user ‘root@localhost’@'localhost’ (using password: YES)
How am I supposed to know what the username and password are?

i have managed to set up a local testing server on my pc in dreamweaver, but when i upload the files to my hosts server, none of the database connections work. is it possible to configure dreamweaver to use my hosts server as a testing server? and how?
